We All Fall Down, June 17th, 2010

Hello hello hello!

This week I didn’t have any guests. Actually, I like it that way, one week I have guests, next week I just play music. Success! As usual, I played bands from all over the world - America (Stephen Egerton, The Hollowpoints, Glory Bound, Dolarhyde, Off With Their Heads), Russia (PMA, Шоковая Терапия), Sweden (Misconduct), Finland (Presley Bastards), Poland (CF98) and obviously Canada (Cambridge, Wayfarer, The Hextalls, The Throwaways, Battle Snakes).

Also, i was honored to have a premiere of new Cambridge song called “Kubark”. The new album comes out July 1st on Rebel Time Records. And the same day, Canada Day btw, Jesse will be on my show talking and playing new songs of their brand new album “This Is Not A Victory”.

We All Fall Down, June 10th, 2010

I was really excited about this week’s show. Last Friday I did the interview with Thomas Barnett (the lead singer for Strike Anywhere) and this Thursday I played clips of this interview on air. Thomas is a really nice person! For me it was an honor to talk to a member of the band which I really like. I was really impressed with our conversation. Outside the interview we talked about different topics and the things Thomas was saying made me confident that he really believes in what he sings about. That sounds obvious, isn’t it? But sometimes when I listen to some hardcore bands, it sounds to me that they sing about political topics, just because being a part of hardcore scene they “need” to have lyrics with political context. Thomas really believes in the words he says and I respect that.

In the interview, Thomas was talking about the song “Indian Summer” by Canadian band One Blood. I really wanted to play this song on the show and it took me 5 days to find this song, and thanks to all the people who helped me, I was able to play this amazing song on the show. Luca, xitooo, Stephe, thank you so much for all you help!

STRIKE ANYWHERE - Orphan Age [Iron Front EP]

We All Fall Down, June 3rd, 2010

This week I didn’t have any guests and I had lots of new music to play. There were too many bands I was excited to play - The Dopamines, Lowtalker, Battle Snakes, OK Pilot…actually all other bands are fantastic and I was stoked to play their amazing songs too! Yis!

I gave away a pair of tickets to go see Misfits and no one called in to get Strike Anywhere tickets. Actually, my friend Ilia whm called from Russia, answered the question correctly and technically won the tickets, but obviously he couldn’t make it to the show. Also Jonny Bones and my friends from Parksville called in. So that was a phone call day! Thanks for calling and listening!

Obviously, I went to see Strike Anywhere at the Rickshaw. I interviewed Thomas Barnett, singer of SA, and I’m planning to play the clip of this interview next week on air.
